STUDIO GLITHERO

Sarah van Gameren, Tim Simpson

Studio Glithero is a London based Anglo-Dutch design alliance. Founded by Tim Simpson and Sarah van Gameren who met at the royal college of art. The studio creates time-based installations and processes, which give birth to unique and wonderful products. With their own concoction of design performance, they aim to bridge creative disciplines and reach a universal audience. "We are especially interested in two things; manufacturing processes that have become obsolete or irrelevant and materials that go through some sort of transformation."  In their work they aim to capture and reveal this moment of transformation, the purest moment when something becomes what it is from nothing. They think of their work as existing in duration, like a piece theater or a film - a sort of design choreography. Similar to the way musicians compose a piece of music, their work has a beginning, middle and an end.
