Moritz Schmid studied product design at the Academy of Art and Design in Basel. During 4 years he worked as a designer and project leader in the studio of Alfredo Häberli. In 2008 he founded his own studio in Zurich.
Since then he has worked in various fields of design, from furniture to tableware as well as exhibition design for companies like Atelier Pfister, Glassworks Edition, Glas Trösch, Museum of Design Zurich, Röthlisberger and others.
In 2010 he won the Swiss federal design award for the products Aris, Eriz and Ligerz by Atelier Pfister. The year after he was again amongst the winners of the Swiss federal design award; this time awared for the scenography of the exhibition "Make up" at the Museum of Design Zurich. Most currently he is nominated for the German design award 2012 for the products Aris and Eriz by Atelier Pfister.
