Flynn Talbot received his Advanced Diploma of Industrial Design at the Western Australian School of Art and Design in 2001. He has worked as lighting designer in London and  Perth. In 2010 he started his own design company, Flynn Talbot Studio and moved to Berlin. Talbot has exhibited in galleries and institutions such as Luminale, Frankfurt; Tent Digital, London; Smart Light Sydney, Sydney; Salone Satellite, Milan; Inspired by Cologne, Germany.

His designs are characterized by the search for new sensory and emotive work. Personal choice and personal expression are critical factors in his projects but above all, creating an "experience" that is absorbing and engaging. Talbot's work is technically modern but physically understated and colour exploration and a current underlying theme.

Talbot was named Young Lighting Designer of 2010 and was awarded for the Philips/PLDA International Lighting Design Competition for St. Peter's Church, Frankfurt 2010. In 2009 he was 1 of 10 winners of the Tent digital competition, London and 1 of 30 for the Inspired by Cologne Competition 2005..
